In summary, PCGA's research estimates that $54.6 billion USD in revenue was generated in 2009 from sales of consumer PCs capable of gaming (that excludes Netbooks and integrated graphics-based PCs.) Southern Methodist University’s new ‘M Lounge’ sets a new standard in student lounge entertainment with a top of the line Alienware PC gaming system, eight PC stations, 161-inch high definition DLP projector, 24 game consoles, and a stage for budding rockers to rock out to Rock Band and Guitar Hero all with the help of the world’s largest entertainment software retailer and fellow PCGA member, GameStop.  The M Lounge not only provides on campus activities for SMU students, it also will serve as a living laboratory for The Guildhall at SMU, the nation’s premier digital game development higher education program.
